Become a Sidekick - Unite In the Fight Against Childhood Cancer

Every day 43 children are diagnosed with cancer-- rallying thousands of friends, families and neighbors together against this terrible disease. 

Yet, sadly the research needed to improve outcomes for these kids is still dramatically underfunded. According to the Coalition of Childhood Cancer, it takes an average of $250,000 to create significant change for most research projects. That's a goal most small groups aren't able to hit on their own. 

The Sammy's Superheroes Sidekick program was created to help cancer families and supporters collaboratively fund research needed to find the cure for childhood cancer once-and-for-all.

Maintain everything you've worked hard to build including your name and/or logo, your donors and supporters, and your passion while having access to the following benefits:

Impactful grants for a cause you care about

  • Choose where you want your dollars to go, or leave the decision to the Sammy's Superheroes Foundation's Medical Advisory Board for projects that show promise.
  • Have your donation combined with other like-minded groups for more impactful grants

Fundraising administrative support

  • Offer a transparent, tax- deductive donation option to your donors
  • Focus on raising funds, not sending out donation receipts and maintaining a federal 501(c)3 status

Online marketing tools

  • Utilize your own page on the Sammy's Superheroes website to help promote your cause and accept online donations
  • Access to mobile fundraising tools including text-to- donate and peer-to-peer crowdfunding options 

 

Expectations of a Sidekick

  • Dream Big!! Raise at least $1000 annually in order to maintain a Sidekick status. This will ensure that we can provide researchers with larger grants to keep their projects moving forward
  • Keep it Legal. Raise funds only for childhood cancer research projects, follow the Sammy's Superheroes Sidekicks' Code of Ethics to ensure that you are representing both your group and Sammy's Superheroes in an appropriate manner, and use the official Sidekick badge on all your online and promotional materials to validate your group and create trust with donors.
